Highlights from the Soul Kitchen Weekend

All Artists are Welcome!

Being a great songwriter is like being a great chef. You must first identify the spices that flavor the dish. A great chef makes you journey with each bite. A great songwriter can take you on marvelous adventures or put you smack in the middle of a memory. It is our goal to inspire you to great choices and exquisite taste. We will help you find the magic in your memories, the treasure in your unique view of the world, the spice in your favorite dish!

The workshops thrive on a relaxed yet structured setting where we write, create, chill and make music. Each day begins in a group session and flows from there into a variety of workshops sessions. The day ends with a performance of some sort by our guest artists, workshop writing groups or YOU! Each guest is involved in the creative process and writing teams that change with each assignment help expand the learning potential for everyone involved. As we said before, it doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned professional looking to rediscover your potential or a rank beginner looking to indulge a personal passion. Each workshop has something for everyone. Peppered in to enhance your careers, we have experts in the fields of PR, Marketing, Management, Entertainment Law, Song Placement, Touring and Publishing available to discuss your needs. And of course, there's an administrative team to keep the days and nights moving with ease.

In the end, you will have gained more than a new set of skills and memories of a cool life experience, you will discover that you have joined a world-wide community of SK artists....you have new friends to write with, perform with, and be inspired by!

Highlights from the Soul Kitchen Weekend

All Artists are Welcome!

Travel to Keene/Dublin, NH

Manchester, NH and Boston, MA are the closest major airports. Manchester is about an hour from Keene/Dublin and Boston is about 2 hours. There is bus service from Boston's Logan airport to Manchester. We provide an early afternoon and evening shuttle pick up for those arriving into Manchester. Please call ahead for schedule.

Daily Amtrak train service is available from DC, Philly, and NYC to Brattleboro, VT on the Amtrak Vermonter. From NYC rates are as low as $51 one way. Check Amtrak for rates and Times. Once in Brattleboro, the Soul Kitchen Shuttle will pick you up at a scheduled time.

Megabus service is available from DC, Philly, NYC, and Boston to Amherst, MA. Amerherst is a short 50min ride from Keene/Dublin. Complimentary shuttle pickup times are available. Please call ahead for schedule.

By car, Keene/Dublin is:

5.5 hours from Philly

Vinx and the Soul Kitchen Staff have been hard at work planning this year's

evolution of the Songwriter’s Soul Kitchen Retreat! You’ve provided some great

ideas and we listened! Soul Kitchen Retreats are heatin up with more creative

workshops, more business insight, more industry guests, more ways to unearth

your creative spirit!

New This year…

Each weekend we’ll include a “Special Sauce” to guarantee a unique learning

experience. Guest faculty, special workshop sessions, etc will incorporate this

theme.

Standard retreat donations are $350 per artist , which includes master

classes, studio time, and select meals. Accomodations are available at several area hotels and bed and breakfasts. Payment Plans and Group rates are now available! Donations will vary for special programs, ie Performance week. Space is limited and available on a first-come-first-serve basis. To guarantee your workshop registration a deposit is required.
