Register for a Soul Kitchen Weekend!
Vinx and the Soul Kitchen Staff have been hard at work planning this year's
evolution of the Songwriter’s Soul Kitchen Retreat! You’ve provided some great
ideas and we listened! Soul Kitchen Retreats are heatin up with more creative
workshops, more business insight, more industry guests, more ways to unearth
your creative spirit!
New This year…
Each weekend we’ll include a “Special Sauce” to guarantee a unique learning
experience. Guest faculty, special workshop sessions, etc will incorporate this
theme.
Standard retreat donations are $500 per artist, which includes master
classes, studio time, accommodations and meals. Payment Plans and Group
rates are now available! Donations will vary for special programs, ie Performance
week. Space is limited and available on a first-come-first-serve basis. To
guarantee your workshop registration a deposit is required.

The Special Sauce: Production 101: I wish I could track what I hear. Have you
ever heard a great melody in your head but didn’t know how to capture the
moment? You will now…learn to track all those songs with a practical hands-on
primer using Reason, Propellerhead software’s premier sound production tool….
bring your laptops!

Business Workshop: Music Placement
The Special Sauce: Songwriting for Film, TV, and Advertising. Who can forget the
movie scene with notable music from "Titanic", or “Friends TV show opening
theme song or any Coke commercial…we all know how powerful music is in
creating mood and recall. Most important is our role as artist in interpreting and
creating mood. Plus business insight on getting you music placed with music
supervisors, filmmakers, and ad agencies looking for great songs for their
projects. Finally, we’ll celebrate the hip ole black man’s b’day…Vinx!

This is the Granddaddy of all Soul Kitchens…Performance Week 2011…an entire
week devoted to creating magic on stage! Guest Artists will be on hand to provide
a wealth of practical insight, plus learn from other industry experts about touring,
management, legal matters, and publishing. Different workshops each day,
design a workshop around your time!
The Special Sauce: The week will culminate with the 3rd Annual Troubadour’s
Gathering, our own music festival reuniting independent artists and past Soul
Kitchen Family from across the country…a true gathering of soul’s sharing their
lives, artistry and experiences in the music industry. PLUS…you and/or your song
(s) will be a featured performance at the Troubadour’s Gathering.

musician in high school or college? But somewhere in your life journey you
decided to eat rather than starve?... Do you have a 9-5 job but that artist within you
is aching to express itself?…We’ll help you BE that artist all over again!!!

Stories and Meet some best new friends
